Innovative. Creative. Fair? Chances and risks of the digitalisation

Dialogue forum special, 14 November 2018, Strascheg Center for Entrpreneurship

The dialogue forum special will take place on 14 November 2018 at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Students and interested people are invited to listen to experts from different fields of digitalisation and discuss. What would happen, once Internet giants like Google and Facebook dictate our lives more and more?

Internet, Social Media and Global Software are dominated by only a few large players. That sounds efficient at first. Amazon delivers everything the heart desires – very rapidly. Google answers even the most abstruse question and Facebook connects billions of people around the world. But what will happen once the Internet giants increasingly dictate our lives? Are we too dependent on a few powerful players in the industry? At the same time, young entrepreneurs in the digital world are developing new business ideas and covering market gaps. A variety of job opportunities is opening up – the traditional working world is getting revolutionised. Digitalisation brings opportunities and risks which require government regulation. With the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Europe tries to fulfill this responsibility. Is this sufficient? How well are we prepared? Which solutions will the digital Start-Up scene be able to develop?

Speakers:
Julia Bönisch, Member of the editorial board of the Süddeutschen Zeitung with focus on digitalisation
Vinzent Ellissen, Managing Director at the Munich Startup Usercentrics
Frank Rieger, Speaker of the Chaos Computer Club Hamburg

Moderation:
Dr. Annegret Jennewein-Kobel, Opportunity Maker, free consultant and moderator

The SCE and the Munich Re Foundation cordially invite you to inform yourself about digitalisation and to get in touch with each other, and the experts afterwards. The event is free.
